NRVCS Board of Directors
New River Valley Community Services (NRVCS) is governed by a
13-member volunteer Board of Directors. NRVCS Board members are each
appointed by the respective local governing bodies of the five
jurisdictions served by the agency.
Representation on the NRVCS
Board is based on population size. Montgomery County - the largest of the
five jurisdictions - has four seats on the board. Pulaski County is
represented by three members, while Giles and Floyd counties, and the City
of Radford, each have two seats on the NRVCS Board.
Board members are appointed to three-year terms and can serve a maximum of
three consecutive terms.
The NRVCS Board meets the fourth Thursday of each month, unless otherwise
noted. (Note: The Board typically does not meet in the months of July and
November.)

The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors has appointed Marya McPherson to the NRVCS Board of Directors.
She fills the vacated term of former NRVCS Board member Neal Turner, who
resigned in December 2012 due to conflicts with other obligations.
Becky Hubble, one of three
representatives of Pulaski County, was elected Vice-Chair of the Board at
its February 28, 2013 meeting. Hubble fills the vacancy left following
the resignation of Neal Turner.
